Search by keyword or name:
Ways To Search:
For a broader search, use a singular noun, rather than plural
- Example: mayor will produce "mayor, mayoral, mayors"
mayors will produce only "mayors"
When searching by name, do not use any punctuation.
- Example: Eddie Cleveland or Cleveland Eddie
will produce an exact match
E Cleveland or Cleveland E will yield all variations of the first name; e.g. Ed, E. D., Edward, etc.
Cleveland will produce all entries containing that word
To limit by date, insert a keyword and choose a date option. You may insert a range of dates by completing the boxes with mm/dd/yyyy.
- Example: Keyword: City Council
Range of Dates: 01/01/1949 - 12/31/1953
For all articles on a given date or range of dates, omit keyword and enter dates in the date box.
- Example: Range of Dates: 07/07/2000 - 07/07/2001
This index has been made possible, in part, through a TexTreasures grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
