As reading skills increase, choose books that capture your child’s interest.
Look for the following characteristics:
· enlarged type style
· short chapters
· illustrations that provide clues to unfamiliar words
· repetition of phrases and new words
· enough “white space” on a page so that children can track words with their fingers
These books can be found in the early readers’ section in rows 121-122. They have a blue label on their spines.
