Grades 4 & 5: Non-fiction

bar

As children develop proficiency at reading independently, they can enjoy a variety of books available from the Library, including true stories, comedy, mystery, adventure, fantasy, and realism.  As they develop their skills and their personal preferences for particular genres or authors, they should be encouraged to select books that may require more than a single sitting to complete.  You can help by:

·    showing your child how to use a bookmark
·    setting aside a special time for your child to read without distractions
·    asking questions about the books your child is reading
·    letting your child see you and other members of your family reading

The following list is some of the best fiction and non-fiction for 4th & 5th graders.
Juvenile Fiction is in rows 100 – 103, and Juvenile Non-Fiction is in rows 107 - 115.
